1. Blue Designated Bags (Required)
Regular trash in Taipei must go in official "blue designated garbage bags" (專用垃圾袋). The truck will refuse trash in any other bag.

- Look for the "Designated Garbage Bag Sales" sign
- Smallest size costs just a few dozen NT$
💡 Money-saving tip: Shopping bags from convenience stores and supermarkets in Taipei are "dual-purpose bags" (環保兩用袋). After using them to carry groceries, you can use them as garbage bags. So when you buy snacks at 7-ELEVEN, pay the NT$1-2 for a bag — it doubles as your trash bag later.
2. Recycling by Day
Taipei separates recycling by category on different days:
Monday & Friday — Flat items
